Savoy Panda Theater - Toy Packaging

Toy Packaging
The Savoy Panda Theatre is a collectible series of clay panda toys that required packaging design.
The company chose to make cute collectible pandas with a theatrical twist and required packaging to convey their unique approach and tell a story about each panda character.
The concept and the style of the packaging was based on the stage and theatre of the Victorian-era, with each toy representing a different story from Gilbert and Sullivan’s
operas. These comic operas created a fanciful world, called “topsy-turvy”, and this supports the juxtaposition of pandas and opera in a theatrically cultural way. In addition, the packaging shows the different die cut of the stage curtain and the top of the box,
which represents the stage light making the packaging an indispensable part of the collectible aspect of the toy.
